Research Interests: · Sedimentary geology - from source to sink; facies analysis and depositional environments; ichnology; basic building-blocks of clastic sedimentary systems and paleogeomorphic evolution; hydrocarbon reservoir analog; integrating well logs, 2D/3D seismic, and cores; subsurface imaging using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR); basin analysis; sequence & seismic stratigraphy; integration of field and remote sensing studies of modern depositional environments like Mississippi Delta; evolution of channels and ‘river deltas’ on Mars; paleoclimatology. · Tectonic sedimentology - sedimentary record of rifting and mantle plume; dynamics of continental rifting; subduction zone sedimentation; neotectonics; geodynamic controls on landscape evolution . · Human evolution – Tectonics, paleoclimate, and hominin evolution of East Africa. |
