   1- How do I apply for this program?

a-Check to see if you are eligible? Click Here

b-Print and fill out the student application. Send application and essay to Dinah Maygarden

c- Print Parental Consent Form/High School Counselor/Teacher Form for your parents and guidance counselor or science teacher to sign. Your counselor or teacher will send in this form.

d- Send an email to dmaygard@uno.edu, to confirm that info has been received.

e- Make sure all forms are sent by Monday, April 5, 2010

 2- When is the program?

June 13 - 25. June 4 and June 11 are lab and lecture days at UNO.

 3- Will it cost me anything?

There is no cost for the program. Travel, food, lodging, and supplies are covered on the field portion of the trip. Personal expenses beyond that are the responsibility of the student.

 4- What will I need to bring?

      Camping supplies and other class supplies will be supplied. Students will need to bring clothes including warm clothes as well as clothes for hot weather. Personal hygiene supplies and personal items should also be brought by the students. A coat will be needed. A complete list of things to bring will be provided to participants.

 

 5- Where will the classroom portion of the program be held?

On UNO campus in New Orleans LA.

 6- Where will the Field Trip portion of the Program be held?

Southern Utah.

 7b- Where exactly is that?

A map will be provided in the spring of 2010.

 8- Where will we stay on the Field Trip?

We will mostly camp out in tents or stay in rustic cabins.

 9- Where and what will we eat on the trip?

We will prepare our own food. Participants will help wth cooking , clean-up and other chores.  The food will be New Orleans food. We will bring a little home with us.
